What is Järn Haus MD?
Järn Haus MD is a physician-led sports medicine and performance health practice built for lifters, strength athletes, and enhanced athletes who want real medical care — not a prescription mill and not a ten-minute video call where nobody actually examines anything. We operate on a direct-pay membership model with no insurance middlemen, which means your physician works for you, not a billing department. The practice is based in Wyoming and serves patients across multiple states via telehealth.
Who is Dr. Bjornsson?
Dr. Bjornsson is a board-certified emergency physician with thirty years of clinical experience. He built Järn Haus MD because he saw a gap: serious athletes — especially those in strength sports — were stuck choosing between physicians who didn't understand their lives and clinics that would sell them whatever they wanted without actually practicing medicine. Neither option is acceptable. Järn Haus MD exists to be the third option
Who is this practice for?
If you train seriously, compete in strength sports, manage a physically demanding lifestyle, or simply refuse to accept "just stop doing that" as medical advice, this practice was built with you in mind. Our patients include powerlifters, bodybuilders, CrossFit athletes, combat sport athletes, weekend warriors with real injuries, and anyone who wants a physician who understands what it means to live in a body you actually use.

Why is your "TRT" so expensive?
Because prescribing testosterone without comprehensive medical evaluation, ongoing monitoring, and clinical judgment isn't medicine — it's retail. The online TRT mills exist to move product. They collect a few lab values, run them through a protocol, ship a vial, and bill your card. That works right up until it doesn't: until your hematocrit is dangerously elevated and nobody noticed, until your estradiol management is a mess because nobody was actually paying attention, or until you develop a problem that required a real clinical relationship to catch early. At Järn Haus MD, if hormone management is clinically appropriate for you, it will be part of a comprehensive care plan with proper evaluation, regular lab monitoring, and a physician who knows your full medical picture. That costs more than a subscription box of testosterone. It should.
What do you mean by "harm reduction"?
Some of our patients use performance-enhancing substances. That is a fact of life in strength sports, and pretending otherwise helps no one. Most physicians will either refuse to treat these patients or lecture them into silence — which means those patients stop disclosing, stop getting monitored, and stop receiving medical care at exactly the point when they need it most. Our approach is straightforward: we don't prescribe or encourage illicit substance use, but we will not turn you away or treat you like a criminal for being honest about what you're doing. We will monitor your health, manage your risks with evidence-based medicine, and give you accurate clinical information so you can make informed decisions. A physician who knows what you're actually taking is a physician who can actually keep you safe.
What services does the practice offer?
The core of what we do starts with keeping you alive. Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death among anabolic steroid users, and most of these patients are getting zero cardiac screening. At Järn Haus MD, comprehensive cardiovascular risk evaluation is central to everything we do — lipid panels, inflammatory markers, cardiac imaging when indicated, blood pressure management, and ongoing monitoring to catch problems before they become emergencies. Beyond cardiac risk, we provide sports medicine and musculoskeletal care (injuries, joint problems, overuse syndromes, return-to-sport planning), hormone evaluation and management (when clinically indicated, with proper workup and monitoring), metabolic and bloodwork optimization, and general health management for athletes who need a physician who understands the demands they place on their bodies. All services are delivered via telehealth, with in-person care available at our Wyoming location or western Wyoming.
How does the membership work?
We offer three membership tiers. CORE at $199 per month covers your foundational physician relationship — visits, messaging access, and ongoing care coordination. PERFORMANCE at $299 per month adds deeper engagement for patients who need more intensive management, more frequent check-ins, or more complex care plans. CONCIERGE at $799 per month is for patients who want the highest level of access and availability. We also offer one-time consultations for patients who aren't ready to commit to membership but want an initial evaluation. All pricing is transparent, posted publicly, and doesn't change based on what you need to be seen for.
What is the Athlete Access Program?
The Athlete Access Program exists because we built this practice on a simple belief: enhanced athletes deserve competent medical oversight regardless of what they can afford. The reality is that many of the people who need this care the most — younger lifters early in their careers, athletes without high incomes, people who are currently unmonitored and at real risk — are exactly the ones priced out of premium membership medicine. That's a problem we take seriously. The Athlete Access Program offers reduced-rate access to essential health monitoring and physician guidance for athletes who would otherwise go without medical care entirely. If cost is the reason you're not getting your bloodwork checked, not getting your blood pressure managed, or not talking to a physician about what you're putting in your body, reach out to us. We would rather see you at a rate you can manage than not see you at al
What states can you see patients in?
We are actively seeing patients in Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Utah, and Nebraska. We can also obtain licensure in additional states — including Texas and Nevada — within as little as 36 hours. If you're in a state not listed here, reach out anyway. In many cases we can have a license in hand before your first appointment.
Do I need to come to Wyoming for an appointment?
No. The large majority of our care is delivered via telehealth. Our physical location outside Jackson Hole, Wyoming is available for in-person visits, but it is not required for most patients. If your situation calls for a hands-on evaluation, we will tell you — and if you can't get to us, we'll help you find the right local resource and coordinate your care.
What happens in the first visit?
Your initial consultation is a real medical encounter, not an intake form with a rubber stamp at the end. We review your full history, your training background, your goals, your current medications and supplements, and anything else that's relevant. If labs are needed, we'll order them. If imaging is needed, we'll arrange it. The point of the first visit is to understand your complete picture before making any clinical decisions — not to get you set up on a protocol as fast as possible.
Will you judge me for what I tell you?
No. This is a physician's office, not a courtroom. The only way we can take care of you properly is if you're honest with us, and the only way you'll be honest is if you know it's safe to be. Whatever you're taking, whatever you've done, whatever you're worried about — we have heard it before, and our job is to help you, not to pass judgment. Full stop.
Is my information private?
Yes. We are fully HIPAA-compliant and take patient confidentiality seriously. Your medical records, lab results, and anything you discuss with your physician are protected by federal privacy law. We do not share your information with employers, insurers, sports organizations, or anyone else without your explicit written authorization. If you have specific privacy concerns — and many of our patients do — raise them. We will address them directly.
How do I get started?
The simplest path is to reach out to us. We'll have a conversation about your situation, your goals, and whether Järn Haus MD is the right fit. If it is, we'll talk about which membership tier makes sense and get your care plan started. If it isn't — if what you need is outside our scope or better served elsewhere — we'll tell you that honestly and point you in the right direction.
